Time synchronisation
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| LAN | NTP (Network Time Protocol) is a communication protocol supporting precise, stable and safe synchronisation of clocks with any time server through the computer network. A great advantage of this solution is the possibility of simultaneous synchronisation of many devices. The synchronisation may be executed: from your own local time server (Internet access is not required) or from a public remote time server (Internet access is required) |
| GPS | Although the GPS has been created for positioning (i.e. defining your location), it can also be used for other purposes. In the received GPS signal, there is embedded information about the current time and date. This time is very accurate because it is determined using an atomic clock, it may be slow or fast by just one millionth of a second per month. To use GPS for time synchronisation the receiver must be located to provide visibility of the sky. GPS synchronisation offers many advantages including precise time synchronisation from the GPS satellites based on atomic standards wherever you are in the world. It does not require any configuration or an Internet connection and operates in every location on the planet. Purchasing If you require this option, please buy a remote control clock and the GPS module listed in add-ons |
