The Sprite MPDV-S4, is a high quality, high reliability, low-cost interactive media player that plays digital video and/or audio media files from a standard micro-SD or USB memory device. The video output is digital at up to full UHD (2160p50/p60) and the audio output is stereo (or mono) digital or analog. Analog SD (PAL or NTSC) video output is also available on a separate connector.
Continuous looping playback begins when power is applied. The Sprite 4K plays most high-definition file types including MPEG-1, 2 and 4, H.264 and WMV9 from a regular high-speed micro-SD memory card or USB drive. It can be used as an audio-only player playing MP3 or WAV files. It has a 2-way serial communications port at 3.3v or 5v TTL level to work with an external control device such as a PC, show-controller, or PLC to play and control up to 200 media files on command.
The Sprite 4K gives continuous feedback reports on its serial communications port telling which file is playing, and the end of file mark. It has a single direct push-button switch input that can trigger on contact-close or contact-open to trigger the playing of a single media file.
When playing video files from a playlist there are no black frames, or a black “glitch” displayed when looping or changing files. The Sprite has a 5V DC output to power a PIR motion sensor, the optional Hydra I/O expander unit or the 8×78-IN expander board or another small load.
