Over in Las Vegas, the 31st Annual International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) took place this summer. The June event saw award winners representing ten countries through a diverse set of projects.
Receiver of the ‘special citation for an intuitive, interactive lighting experience´ was BruumRuum! who’s project was the creation of a permanent interactive installation at the Plaza de Glories de Barcelona.
The amazing light and sound design combines sound with colour through linear luminaries that are set in 3,300 msq surrounds. Through use of sensors placed around the plaza, the LEDs react to the intensity of voices and the sounds produced by the city. A truly amazing design achievement indeed!
