The high street is in trouble. Sales are depressed and falling, and even major brands are struggling to keep their heads above water. There are a number of factors to blame, from a falling pound, changing shopping habits, and unease over Brexit and the future. Writing for the Guardian, @whatbutlersaw adds:
“Nearly a fifth of British retailers are planning to cut the number of people they employ in the next three months as the high street continues to suffer from rising costs and a shift to buying online. Retailers also face the rising cost of sourcing goods from abroad following the fall in the value of the pound, alongside a jump in business rates and the legal minimum wage. At the same time household spending remains sluggish, not helped by weak consumer confidence.”
Physical stores are feeling the pinch, making it imperative to change how they attract customers inside and entice them to make a purchase. Times are changing, so why not use a state-of-the-art LED screen to help define your brand and your business?
Bold and dynamic
Although it’s convenient and time-saving, online outlets lose out from not having a physical presence. That’s because a brand’s message can get lost in the internet noise, fighting constantly to stay visible and interesting alongside a thousand others offering the exact same product or service. For all the money an online brand spends on its image, it may all count for nothing if a customer doesn’t actually ever see it.
High street stores have a slightly different problem. Because customers are constantly walking past all sorts of different stores, there needs to be something to at least stop and look at what’s on offer. It is only once a shopper is inside that they can be impressed by your visual marketing and advertising inside. But the key initial step is to attract attention.
An LED screen offers this in spades. It’s a chance to take all that innovative marketing you produced for other channels, like social media or even television, and present it in a bold and dynamic format. In terms of your choices, the sky is the limit; display screens, rolling banners, information screens, point-of-sale ads and even transparent screens can all be deployed to boost your brand and increase sales.
Personal touch
Another key difference between online and physical retail is that you have a representative of your brand available in a high street store. If stores are going to compete with online retailers, this difference needs to become more of an advantage. You can use your LED screens to create a synergistic experience for your customers that turns employees into a major asset rather than something to be cut. Your LED screens can direct customers in store and create a living, breathing virtual experience for them, facilitating a sale by encouraging customers to approach your salespeople in-store.
Branding and marketing can do an enormous amount towards making your employees feel approachable and confident, and LED screens can deliver these messages so much more effectively than traditional mediums.
