Signal conditioners – or converters as they are also known – work to make the accurate measurement and display of signals across industrial applications possible. How does a signal conditioner work?
Signal conditioners convert one signal type to another, for example, mA to VDC etc. One type of panel meter might only take in 4 to 20mA as a signal, and your transducer may only be available in VDC. In this case, you would convert one signal type to another using a signal conditioner.
Signal conditioners can also scale signals. The output from the transducer might be 0 to 5 VDC and it scales that to be 4 to 20mA. Another transducer might be 0 to 10VDC and again, using a conditioner, you can scale this to be 4 to 20mA.
